Adventures in K-town
This past Tuesday, I got to roadtrip it with Jacqs to K-town. What a fun drive! I love driving. Anyways, we were booked all day for almost every half hour, and by the time lunch came around, we were sticky and sweaty. And nothing we had seen was stellar...until....our last two appointments at the end of the day! Two clean, spacious 2-bedroom apartments in a row! That blew me away completely...we felt so blessed. Of course, being chinese and the indecisive girls we are, we couldn't make a decision...and almost lost our first choice place! But wait! Doesn't God just love to humour us and keep us on our toes! Based on what the landlady was saying, it seemed we would have to settle with our second choice apartment, which was totally fine with us. So we signed the lease to our second choice apartment...and just as we were going to get our chequebooks, we bump into the friendly couple that our first choice apartment was supposedly being rented to! In an instant, there was an impromptu meeting on the street between the four of us: apparently, our first choice apartment wasn't a high priority on their list! And so we explained that the landlady was hoping to rent to them, and had put us on hold; since we wanted to sign a lease before leaving k-town, we had signed on with our second choice place! Yikes! Lo and behold, everything worked out, with all the credit going to God for sure. The couple called the landlady, telling her they didn't want the place anymore because it wasn't their first choice, and they wanted us to have it. Well, she was a nice landlady, so she was fine with the change. Now onto the second choice apartment we had just signed a lease for!! Who knew K-town had such fine landladies??!! (esp. if you know of the infamous D. D.) This second landlady was just absolutely fabulous...because she let us back out of the lease!!!! Isn't that unbelievable? We were so stunned at how things worked out that we felt really sorry about having to back out of a lease. So we sent the landlady a nice thank you very much card. Now how's that for a story? :)
